The Chinese have not been considered a top player in the economy since they have been a third world country for many years.  However the 21^st century has been changing how innovative the Chinese are.  They have worked on a number of technological projects as well as tried to become a larger global entity.  Since companies can use the Chinese for cheaper labor a number of countries have built plants in China helping the economy grow.

This stimulation of the Chinese economy has occurred in ten important cities.  The Chinese cities with more innovation include Hangzhou, Qingdao, Shenzhen, Suzhou, Beijing, Changzhou, Yantai, Shaoxing, and Guangzhou.  Each of these Chinese cities has become more innovative in the last nine years than they were before concentrating on research and development.
